I am delighted that the Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open is now firmly
entrenched on the international tennis circuit and has come to be
regarded as a prestigious and high-profile event by tennis lovers in
India and across the world.
Last year's tournament provided some great tennis moments for lovers of
the sport and has created a passionate fan base that appreciates the
high quality tennis and the incredible atmosphere that world class
tennis action brings with it.
The Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open, which now enters its second year,
has attracted many of the world's top ranking players. Like last year,
this year too, a series of on-ground activities aimed at raising the
profile of the tournament and building involvement with tennis as a
sport are planned.
Globally, platforms like the Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open have
contributed to the on-going development of sport and have over the years
served to identify talent and developing stars of the future. I hope
that these talented and world-class players will serve as an inspiration
for our budding tennis players.
